Thankful

We awoke this morning to snow! We hadn't watched the weather, so it was a happy surprise for all of us. It was a really nice snow too. Usually in Amarillo the wind is blowing so the snow comes at you sideways. And usually the snow won't pack for snowballs and snowmen. But today there were nice big wet flakes that packed together really well. And some of the time the flakes actually fell straight down.

Apparently this tree mistakenly thought it was still fall.

Stanley ran and played like a puppy. He always does when it snows!

Due to the lack of any hills, sledding had to be done Amarillo style- pulled behind the go-kart!

Here is our beautiful tree. You may be able to tell that the adults did the lights and the kids did the ornaments. (Note there are no ornaments above 4 ft!)

We had a wonderful Thanksgiving this year. We are so thankful that Luke is back home with us. Last year on Thanksgiving he was in a bunker in Afghanistan under attack. Last year we were up to our ears in debt and had been worrying about it for several years. Praise the Lord that we now have financial peace! We are out of debt, except for our new house! We were able to put 20% down when we bought the house and even paid cash for some new furniture. Luke's new job is also working out very well and he is getting lots of work. Our boys are doing so well in school and are so happy with the new house. They both were especially thankful for the great big yard! God has blessed us abundantly!

Ha! If your tree met our tree it would make a whole. Emery got to decorate the tree then I had to move all of our "precious" ( you know the type the hand painted hand ornaments) and anything breakable up to the top of the tree. So we are decorated from the top to the middle.

So jealous of the snow. Rarely does such a great sonwfall happen in Amarillo. Some of our best sliding ever was on the side of the overpass of I-27 and Bell. Probably not advisable for small children but the only hill we could find!
