Our prayers didn't keep him from leaving the base this time, but they did bring him back in 2 hours!
"Just wanted to let everyone know my little off base jaunt went about as good as it possibly could. The GPS equipment worked, which sped things up. Also the day was perfect weatherwise. There were no clouds, which allowed the GPS to work faster. Normally it was taking from 3-5 minutes for each point, but today it was only taking about 30 seconds. We were out and back right at 2 hours. Got to see some intersting things. I saw the intricate networks of canals used for crop irrigation, and there is a lot of farming going on over here."
